Jackson police arrested a burglary suspect Wednesday inside the garage of home in the 2500 block of Bristol Drive, police said.

The Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Luke R. Trankle, 26, of Jackson with two counts of felony burglary and misdemeanor stealing.

His bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Jackson police were investigating a report of a burglary in the 2400 block of Berkley Drive. The K-9 police dog was checking the area, and officers heard noises from the garage at Bristol Drive, according to a news release.

Officers contacted the homeowner of the residence, and he confirmed no one was supposed to be inside the home, according to the release.

the officers after being warned the police dog would be unleashed if he did not yield, the release stated.

Items taken from a home in the 2400 block of Berkley and 2500 block of Bristol drives were found in Trankle’s backpack.

A homeowner on Berkley Drive said he saw Trankle attempt to enter his residence from the garage area, and Trankle tried to steal items from the garage and from two vehicles, according to the release.
