BULLDOGS IN FINALS TONIGHT

COLUMBIA - The Notre Dame Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday to march into the Class 2A state championship game. They beat Wright City 5-3.

Ace right-hander Greg Rubel fired a three-hitter at the Wildcats in the semifinal contest to continue the Bulldogs' postseason drive.

Notre Dame (15-7) will send left-hander Tim Garner against Mansfield (17-4) in today's 5 p.m. title game at Simmons Field on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.

Mansfield registered a 4-3, eight-inning victory over Kansas City St. Pius to set up the showdown.
