KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The brother of a former Independence police officer pleaded guilty Friday to a federal charge of conspiring with his brother to rob two undercover FBI agents.

The plea by Scott McGarr, 42, of Lee's Summit, came a day after his brother, Brian McGarr, 42, pleaded guilty to the same charge. No sentencing date was set.

The two admit to plotting to rob the agents of $10,000.

The brothers were arrested after an FBI sting operation, following an investigation into allegations that Brian McGarr was using his position to identify drug dealers to rob.
