PATTON -- The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri recently granted wishes to a brother and sister in Patton.

Jamie Yamnitz, 16, and Christin Yamnitz, 15, both attend Meadow Heights schools and are the children of Terry and Carol Yamnitz. The two teens have cystic fibrosis.

Jamie was given a brown gelding trained for roping. Wish granter Vickie Hoernig made sure Jamie saw several horses and was able to pick the one he wanted. The horse he picked, Watch Joe, was owned and trained by Jason Stroup of Gordonville.

After the horse was delivered, Jamie was given a Domino's Pizza party. He then picked up necessary supplies at the Circle S Saddle Co.

Hoernig said she thanked Perryville veterinarian Dan Schupp for help in finding Watch Joe, Dr. Linus Huck of Jackson for donating a checkup for the horse, Mark and Karen Hudson for donating equipment, the owners of Circle S Saddle and several people who gave advice and assistance.

Christin asked for her own entertainment center and picked out everything she wanted from a JCPenney catalog. She received a 27-inch television, CD player, VCR, TV antenna, camcorder, movies, CDs and videotapes.

Hoernig said she was thankful for several JCPenney and Hastings employees' help and generosity.

Make-A-Wish was established to ensure children with life-threatening medical conditions or terminal illnesses could receive things they wished for.

For more information, contact Hoernig at (573) 547-1124 or Wish Coordinator Alexis Slyter at 1-800-937-9474.
