Storm drain pipe liner installation planned for today on Broadway in Cape Girardeau has been rescheduled to begin Wednesday.

The city announced the date change Monday morning, citing a concern about rainy weather.

The work will close a portion of the street just east of Main Street and will affect traffic access to Water Street as well. Project work by contractor SAK Construction will begin about 9 a.m., and the city said it should be finished in about 18 hours, weather permitting. Work will be continuous to minimize disruptions.

Detours will be marked in the area around the work zone, and drivers are asked to use caution.
