Bridge repairs reduce I-55 in Cape County

Southbound Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction as contractor crews make bridge deck repairs. This section of the interstate is from Highway 74 at Cape Girardeau to Route AB, the bridge over the Diversion Channel. Weather permitting, the work will be done at night, from 12:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., from Wednesday through Sept. 10, including weekends. Signs will mark the work zone, and motorists are urged to use caution while traveling near the area.
