The dedication ceremony for the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge will be Dec. 13 in the middle of the bridge. Shuttle service will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. from the Show Me Center, Shawnee Park Sports Complex and RM COCO in Missouri and the Purple Crackle in Illinois. In case of rain, the ceremony will be at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus.
8 a.m. -- Gates open to the public
9 a.m. -- Ceremony begins, remarks by dignitaries
10:15 a.m. -- Ribbon cut (bridge cable cut with grinder)
10:30 a.m. -- Inaugural drive/celebration caravan with antique vehicles, Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales, bands and more. (The drive will include dignitaries, bridge workers, MoDOT/IDOT employees and those receiving special recognition at the ceremony.)
11 a.m. -- Bridge open to foot traffic for strolling and photos at no charge as well as a 5-K run, 2-mile walk and 14-mile bike ride. The run/walk/bike ride is $10 and includes a T-shirt. For information call 651-5142.
1:30 p.m. -- Bridge cleared
3 p.m. -- Bridge opens to traffic.
