Greg K. Blattner of Cape Girardeau has been awarded a Boy's State Leadership Award, and Jessica L. Gaydos of Cape Girardeau has been awarded a Girl's State Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1995-96 academic year.
The Leadership Award is a $300 one-time award given to beginning freshmen who have attended Boy's or Girl's State and who have an ACT composite score of 22 and a 3.0 grade-point average after six or seven high school semesters.
Gaydos also received a President's Scholarship. The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the Enhanced ACT or 1,010 on the SAT. The scholarships also are awarded to students who are their class valedictorian or salutatorian and complete the core curriculum. The scholarship is worth $1,200 per academic year.
Blattner and Gaydos will graduate from Cape Girardeau Central High School this spring.
Blattner is the son of Tim and Nancy Blattner.
Gaydos is the daughter of Bernie and Betsy Gaydos.
