Boys and Girls Club seeking donations

Boys and Girls Club will gain matched contributions for donations made by today.

The Boys and Girls Club, established in Cape Girardeau in 1999, has helped ensure that more than 400 of Cape Girardeau's youth have had positive role models and a place where they could go to look for guidance. The influence the Boys and Girls Club has on youth is aimed at helping them succeed in life.

The Delta Companies president, Ric Neubert, recently has pledged $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Club with a challenge to all Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce members to donate financial gifts before today for matching funds of up to $5,000. The money will support the club's efforts in providing hope and opportunity for the youth in our community.

Club programs allow area youth to gain homework help, understand classroom learning and enjoy exposure to making healthy life choices, character building, self respect and leadership skills.
