The Shawnee District of the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold a recruiting drive from noon to 2 Sunday at the Student Recreation Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
The theme of the drive is "Climb the Wall and Join the Boy Scouts."
The Shawnee District covers all of Cape Girardeau, Bollinger and Perry counties and parts of Scott and Stoddard counties.
Boys who have completed fifth grade, earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award or are 11 years old may join the Boy Scouts.
This special recruiting event will be held at the Climbing Wall in the rec center, which is located on New Madrid Street near the footbridge on the west end of the Show Me Center.
Scoutmasters and patrol leaders from area troops will be on hand to sign youth up that have not already joined a troop. Boys who are not already Scouts and their parents are invited to come and join in the fun.
