Kinnison said the accident took place just north of Park Street as the vehicle, driven by Mary Kuehnert, 33, of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., was pulling out of a private drive. Kuehnert had stopped the vehicle on a sidewalk to check the street for oncoming traffic, he said.

Kinnison said the boy was riding his bike east on the sidewalk when the accident occurred.
