Killed was Marcus Bader of Wappapello. His 6-year-old brother, Gabariel, was air-lifted to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. His 5-year-old sister, Amberlee, and his mother Valencia Bader, 37, also received serious injuries and were taken to Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

The Highway Patrol reported that Bader was driving a Jeep Cherokee southbound when the accident occurred. She came out of a curve and met another vehicle at the center line, the patrol said. She avoided the other vehicle, ran off the west side of the roadway, over corrected and ran off the east side of the roadway.

The patrol reported that her vehicle then struck several trees and overturned. Amberlee Bader was thrown from the vehicle.
