The Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau will broadcast the heavyweight championship bout of Evander Holyfield vs. Riddick Bowe tonight at 8.
The fight, for which Las Vegas oddsmaker Jimmy Vaccaro has declared no favorite, will be broadcast on a big screen television in the hotel's lounge.
Bowe is the No. 1 contender and is ranked first by the World Boxing Association and by the International Boxing Federation. Bowe, as 6-foot 5-inch, 234 pound Brooklyn native, is also ranked third by the World Boxing Council. His seventh round technical knockout of top-ranked Pierre Coetzer in July, vaulted him into the position of mandatory challenger for Holyfield's undisputed crown.
Holyfield, 28-0, with 22 knock-outs, will be defending his title for the fourth time.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Schnucks, Disc Jockey Records in Cape, Capital Banks in Sikeston and Jackson and the Show Me Center box office. To order tickets by phone, call 651-5000.
