CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A Delta C-7 student was turned over to juvenile authorities in connection with threats made on Facebook.

Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell said deputies and Delta C-7 School officials began an investigation Monday after reports of threats made to school officials and students. The threats were made on the online social site Facebook.

A 16-year-old student was taken into custody on Tuesday when he arrived at the school.

"However on Wednesday, school officials and the school resource officer did recover some additional evidence concerning the threats," said Greenwell in a news release. He said this information was also turned over to the Pemiscot County Juvenile Office.

Investigation is continuing, according to the sheriff.
