Bootheel man killed in tractor rollover

COOTER, Mo. -- A Hayti, Mo., man was fatally injured Tuesday in a tractor accident in rural Cooter.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, deputies responded to a report of a man being trapped under a tractor when it overturned on County Road 567, just south of Route O.

Emergency personnel found Patrick Branham of Hayti lying in a muddy area of a side ditch. It appeared a rear tire may have slipped down the embankment causing the tractor to overturn, which resulted in Branham being trapped between the tractor and the ditch area, Greenwell said.

Branham was pronounced dead at the scene by Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall.
