Books are chosen based on interest level rather than reading ability. The first book, "Because of Winn-Dixie" will be read aloud during the hour and once completed, the movie version of the novel will be shown at Best Buy.

Improving literacy skills while providing an outlet to make new friends is the aim of this group. "A Novel Idea" is a coordinated effort of the Southeast Regional Professional Development Center, Barnes and Noble and Best Buy. For more information, call Jill LeGrand, community relations manager, at 335-0522 or Susan Hekmat, regional professional development center, at 651-2718.
