Voters in the Chaffee R-II School District passed a no tax increase bond initiative to allow additions and renovations to the district's buildings, according to unofficial election results from the Scott County Clerk's office Tuesday night. In a vote of 302 for and 53 against, voters passed the issue allowing the district to borrow $2.9 million to fund the construction of two storm safe classrooms at the elementary school and an addition to the high school industrial arts shop; to repair and replace roofs at the high school and elementary school; and to upgrade lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at both schools.. ...

Voters in the Chaffee R-II School District passed a no tax increase bond initiative to allow additions and renovations to the district's buildings, according to unofficial election results from the Scott County Clerk's office Tuesday night.

In a vote of 302 for and 53 against, voters passed the issue allowing the district to borrow $2.9 million to fund the construction of two storm safe classrooms at the elementary school and an addition to the high school industrial arts shop; to repair and replace roofs at the high school and elementary school; and to upgrade lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at both schools.

With the excess funds the district wants to replace bleachers in the gymnasium and at the football field and complete other renovations, repairs and remodeling to district facilities.
