Bollinger County voters unseated incumbent Presiding Commissioner Travis Elfrink on Tuesday, choosing Leo Arnzen by a wide margin, 1,466 to 991, in the Republican primary. Arnzen will face no opposition in the general election.

In another hotly contested race, Republican Dana Mayfield won over three other candidates in Tuesday's primary and will contend with Democrat Cindy Yount in November for the position of Bollinger County Circuit Clerk.

Despite the rainy weather, 2,979 Bollinger County residents cast their votes at the polls, which is 35.63 percent of registered voters. Republican incumbent state representative Rick Francis will contend with Democrat Ronald G. Pember for District 145 in November.

Republican Scott Minson won the battle for Bollinger County treasurer and will not be opposed in November.

Proposition A was defeated with 60.16 percent of the vote in Bollinger County.
