PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Two Bollinger County men face methamphetamine-related charges in Perry County following their arrest by Perry County sheriff's deputies Tuesday.
Forrest Wayne Steffey Jr., 58, and Shannon Demont McCormick, 37, were arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon at Highway 51 and Route O in Perry County.
"These two had been making regular rounds of the pharmacies purchasing pseudoephedrine for some time," Perry County Sheriff Gary Schaaf said in a news release.
Steffey is charged with two counts of possession of methamphetamine precursors, a felony, and two counts of purchasing more than 9 grams of pseudoephedrine in a 30-day period, a misdemeanor.
McCormick is charged with two counts of possession of methamphetamine precursors, two counts of purchasing more than 9 grams of pseudoephedrine in a 30-day period, a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
Schaaf said McCormick will also be charged today with possession of methamphetamine.
According to the news release, information obtained during the traffic stop led to deputies going to a residence where methamphetamine and prescription drugs were found. Schaaf said the alleged discovery will likely lead to additional charges next week.
