A Bollinger County man was accused Friday of stealing about $19,000 in items from a man who was away working on a riverboat.
Daniel Wayne Mouser, 29, of Marble Hill, Missouri, is charged with felony theft, felony theft of a firearm and second-degree burglary.
The victim's sister called the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department at 4 p.m. Tuesday, observing things appeared to be out of the ordinary at the victim's single-wide trailer on Route H, according to a probable-cause statement by deputy Matthew Kight.
With tips from two women, officers found all the missing items -- most of them at Mouser's home in Marble Hill -- which included a .45-caliber pistol, a Ruger rifle, Remington shotgun, Fender guitar, 26-inch TV, Xbox 360, a Blu-ray player, pieces of computer equipment, a Garmin global-positioning system unit and pieces of clothing, including those that included the name of the riverboat company for which the victim worked, Kight wrote.
Kight noted in his report a west facing door of the trailer was visibly forced open.
Mouser was charged with unlawful use of a weapon in 2008, but was not convicted.
