ZALMA, Mo. -- A one-car accident killed a McGee, Mo., man in the early morning hours Saturday near Zalma.
Kevin A. Underwood, 26, was killed when the 1981 Chevrolet he was driving crashed into the Castor River on Highway 51, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The patrol said the crash occurred at 1:50 a.m. Saturday when Underwood's vehicle pulled out of a private drive on the highway, ran off the right side of the road and went through a guardrail and off a bridge into the Castor River.
The vehicle came to rest on its roof and the driver was pronounced dead on the scene by Bollinger County Coroner Charles Hutchings. McGee was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
