Introduced in 1967, the Harrier is known for its ability to take off and land vertically and to hover.
The Harriers now used by U.S. and British forces are likely to remain in service for 15 to 20 years. They'll be replaced by the new Joint Strike Fighter, and Lockheed Martin Corp. is the main contractor for that aircraft.
