FLORISSANT, Mo. -- A body has been recovered from the scene of a suburban St. Louis house explosion.
The house in Florissant blew up and caught fire shortly before 3 a.m. Officials didn't release the name of the victim or the cause of the explosion.
Deputy Fire Chief Scott Seppelt said the two-story home was blown from its foundation.
Upon arriving, the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District found natural gas spewing from a break in the line at the meter. Flames burned off escaping gas for hours before utility workers could shut off the flow.
