Authorities did not release a cause of death.

A Salvation Army employee found the woman's body about 9 a.m. Thursday while checking one of the charity's parking lots east of downtown, police said. The employee tried to wake the woman, but found no signs of life.

Police said the body apparently was not inside the van when the Salvation Army received it several weeks ago. The van was to be auctioned to raise money for the charity.
