MILAN, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities believe they've found the body of a northeast Missouri man missing for nearly a week.
Sullivan County Chief Deputy Dave Atkins says a body of a drowning victim was discovered Wednesday in Locust Creek, near the town of Milan (MEYE'-luhn).
That's the same creek where the car owned by 47-year-old Jack Jackson was found last Friday.
Jackson had disappeared the night before, when his car was swept off a gravel road by floodwaters. Divers were brought in and concluded that Jackson's body was not in the car.
A search for Jackson has been under way since then.
Atkins says the body is being taken to Columbia for an autopsy.
