Folk legend Bob Dylan will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 25 at the Show Me Center.
Dylan established himself as the most important singer-songwriter of his generation in the 1960s, writing such anthems as "Like a Rolling Stone," "Blowin' in the Wind," "The Times They Are A-Changin'" and "Just Like a Woman."
David Ross, director of the Show Me Center, said lots of people who don't ordinarily go to concerts have told him they are going to see Dylan.
"There is some good interest in this concert," he said.
Dylan has never played at the Show Me Center. His most recent appearance in this market was at SIU's Arena, where he drew 4,700 people.
He has just returned from a tour of Japan.
Dylan's song "Things Have Changed" from the movie "Wonder Boys" has been nominated for an Academy Award and was up for two Grammys this year.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m. following a lottery at 7 a.m. at the Show Me Center Box Office. Those there for the lottery at 7 a.m. will claim a place at the front of the line when tickets go on sale two hours later.
After the lottery, tickets also will be available at Disc Jockey Records in Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Ill., and Paducah, Ky., and at Schnucks in Cape Girardeau.
Tickets are $29.50.
