The Cape Girardeau Board of Education will again examine building needs at a work session tonight.
The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at the Board of Education office, 61 N. Clark.
At a February study session, the school board decided to replace old buildings with new elementary classrooms, setting aside for now the idea of a new middle school.
The agenda tonight includes a review of the facility needs in the district, a look at maintenance needs in the district and a discussion of the Proposition C tax rollback.
Many area school districts have voted to waive the tax rollback, which is a part of Proposition C. As a result, additional local money is generated for schools.
At previous meetings, board members and administrators have discussed the possibility of asking Cape Girardeau voters to waive the rollback.
In April and again October of last year, voters turned down tax increases that would have funded new buildings and other facility upgrades.
Since that time, board members have been gathering community input and looking for a way to replace aging buildings in the district.
