Sharon Williams of Williams Hearing Center, 320 Broadway, recently received certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences.
To become board certified, a hearing aid specialist must have two years' practical experience, including 100 hours of hands-on training in the testing of hearing and fitting hearing instruments and pass the National Competency Exam.
Williams, a registered nurse, recently completed the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) examination.
She has been associated with Williams Hearing Center since July of 1988, and is licensed by the Missouri Division of Professional Registration for hearing aid fitters and dealers. She is a member of the National Hearing Aid Society, Missouri Hearing aid Society, American Nurses Association, and the Missouri Nurses Association-Eighth District.
