Gov. Matt Blunt will visit Cape Girardeau at 1:30 p.m. today for a half-hour visit at the Discovery Playhouse Children's Museum, 101 William St. Blunt will discuss the city's progress under the Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri, or DREAM, initiative. Cape Girardeau was one of the first 10 cities in Missouri chosen for the program to provide assistance to develop a plan for redevelopment of city cores. In addition to the planning expertise, Cape Girardeau has been awarded a $400,000 Community Development Block Grant to extend Fountain Street from Morgan Oak Street to William Street and $172,270 in tax credits for the Discovery Playhouse's Southeast Missouri Children's Museum.
