POPLAR BLUFF -- Dr. Dorothy Munch, a physician at Poplar Bluff Family Medicine, has been appointed to the Board of Governors of Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville.
Munch, 35, has a bachelor's degree in biology from Northeast and a medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
A Republican, Munch was appointed by Gov. Mel Carnahan to the position held by Richard S. Pryor of Blue Springs, whose term had expired.
Munch is a trustee of the Butler County Health Department and a staff physician with AMI Lucy Lee Hospital.
Carnahan said Munch is a quality person who can help prepare the university for the 21st century.
