JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Secretary of State Jason Kander is reminding Missouri residents of the 5 p.m. Monday deadline for submitting photos in the "Remembering Harry" Blue Book photo contest.

Entries can be submitted by either mail or email and should draw on one or more themes found in three categories, all quotations from President Harry Truman, whom the contest honors:

* "Carry the battle to them": photographs of sporting events and competitions in Missouri;

* "The most peaceful thing in the world is plowing a field": photographs of Missouri agriculture and natural settings; and

* "I don't believe in little plans": photographs of unique celebrations and parades in Missouri.

Winning photographs will be published with full credit to the photographer in the Blue Book, formally known as the 2013-2014 Official Manual, scheduled for release at the end of this year. Additionally, all submissions will join the permanent collection of the Missouri State Archives.
