Good Life Promotions will be hosting its fifth annual Pre-Easter Gospel Sing April 21-22, at the Arena Park in Cape Girardeau.
The weekend's event is the largest Easter Gospel Sing in the Heartland.
Friday will start off with a talent search in the afternoon, and will continue on Saturday with some of the area's most talented Gospel singers and musicians. The winners will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to sing in a National Talent Search at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Ken. in September.
The evening concert on Friday wilt feature the best in Gospel music. Artist scheduled to appear will be The Crabb Family who is the largest "family" group on the road today. They secured their position in the southern Gospel field w the release: Please Forgive Me," which was the highest charting song in the history of southern Gospel music, to be followed by Trail of Tears" and their third number one song "The Lamb, the Lion, and the King." The group has been nominated for 43 awards in 3 years. The blessings of God are clearly on this ministry.
Also scheduled to appear Will be Charles Johnson and the Revivers. Johnson has recorded numerous albums and traveled all over Europe and America. His most recognized song "It's Gonna Rain" was on the Billboard charts for 100 weeks.
The Hoskins Family from Franklin, Ohio who caught the attention of Gerald Crabb will be performing their latest project, "Mission of Love."
Heirline is one of the most sought after groups and continues to gain in popularity in the hearts of people throughout the United States. Their dynamic way of spreading God's word in song is energetic, spirit filled and sincere. Their current release is "Oceans of Grace. Experience Heirline today! The evenings only Quartet talent will be the Palmetto State Quartet. The smooth sound of a male four part harmony will put the finishing touches on a Good Friday's evening concert in Cape Girardeau.
Saturday will not be lacking in talent with the ever so popular family trio "The Bishops" from Kentucky. The Bishops have a little Kentucky Bluegrass in their souls and will no doubt pet-form their ever so requested "Front Porch Sinzine." The father and sons trio have sung their ways into the hearts of the southern gospel fans. Their most noted of songs are "He's in the Midst," "Lazrus Come Forth," " I'll Live Again," "For Every Cross, there is a Crowd, and "I Need You More Today."
The promise of complete victory is the foundation and cornerstone of any career in the Christian music field. In 1981, The Hoppers represented Southern Gospel Music at the religious inaugural celebration for President Ronald Reagan. While The Hoppers have enjoyed tremendous success throughout three decades, the decade of the 90's ushered in new found accomplishments. The Hoppers have been guest on Bill Gaither Videos and one of their most popular songs is no doubt "Shoutin' Time." They have enjoyed much success as a result of numerous group and individual awards.
Last but certainly not least will be Gold City, they have been synonymous with Gospel Music for years as they offer rich, exciting vocals and tight harmonies like no other quartet in southern Gospel history.
