Rumors of a sold-out performance of "Big River" have made their way to the River Campus, but Southeast Missouri State University personnel say those rumors aren't true.

One show, Friday night, is close to sold out, with 12 tickets left at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, said River Campus Box Office Manager Ellen Farrow. Actually, tickets are available for every performance.

For other shows more tickets are available, like the approximately 280 for Wednesday's opening night, Farrow said, though tickets are selling steadily as the show approaches.

"Big River" is the first major stage production in the Bedell Performance Hall, the new theater at the River Campus. The musical is based on Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn."

Parking overflow shouldn't be a problem on opening night, said Farrow. But in the case the parking lot at the River Campus is full, patrons should park at the large lot downtown near Hutson's Furniture. A shuttle will ferry passengers to the River Campus from the lot.
