ST. LOUIS -- Charity Navigator, an independent group that evaluates charities to identify which ones manage donations responsibly, has rated Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri with the highest rating of four stars for the second straight year.
The rating indicates that Big Brothers Big Sisters excels in managing its finances in an efficient and effective manner.
"We're deeply honored by this rating," said Becky James-Hatter, the president and chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri. "We put every effort into making sure that the money we raise goes toward helping the children of this region."
For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been one of the most effective youth-service groups in the United States. Its mission is to provide a mentor for every child who wants and needs one.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri carries out this work throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and in Cape Girardeau and Scott counties.
