SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission rejected bids for the contract to improve Highway 34 in Bollinger County during its regular meeting Dec. 7. Bids received for the project were higher than anticipated.

The project included grading and optional paving from west of County Road 500 to east of Route ZZ near Marble Hill, Mo., and from west of Route ZZ to east of Highway 51 near Marble Hill. Additionally, the project included installation of a box culvert. Bids for the project will reopen in February.
