Laureate Alpha Rho was the host chapter. Chairmen were Norma Schrieber and Patricia Taylor.
Loretta Atkins welcomed members of chapters from Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and surrounding areas.
Marion Edwards was mistress of ceremony and introduced and honored Girl of the Year from each chapter. They are: Glenda Nations, Alpha Alpha; Edna Hey, Laureate Alpha Rho; Sue LaBruyere, Alpha Lambda Masters; Vicki Connell, Alpha Nu Masters; Beth Langston, Epsilon Epsilon; Sandy Ross, Lambda Omicron; Kaki Huckstep, Omega Tau; Mary Holzum, Preceptor Epsilon Tau; Wanda Darby, Preceptor Gamma Omicron; and Robynne Green, Xi Epsilon Nu.

Dorothy Miles introduced the program. Kitty Rueseler presented it on the theme "My Life In Hats" of vintage year 1941. The hats were modeled by members, with humorous remarks made by Rueseler. Margaret Harmon sang an Easter song.
Rosanna Whitnel is a new pledge to Alpha Rho chapter.
The sorority theme for 2002 is "Weave A Webb of Friendship."
The sorority was founded by Walter W. Ross in 1931, with the first chapter of seven members being in Abilene, Kan. The name came about when it was discovered the Greek words for the organization's already planned motto, "Life, Learning and Friendship," begin with the letters that mean Beta, Sigma and Phi.
Beta Sigma Phi is an international women's friendship network. It provides educational programs to its members and opportunities for service to others. Members are women of all ages, interests, educational and economic backgrounds.
