BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- A Bernie, Mo., man was in the Stoddard County Jail on Wednesday facing charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child. Aaron M. Chance, 19, was arrested Tuesday by Dexter police on charges stemming from a Nov. 2 incident. Chance is alleged to have stabbed an individual in the neck following an altercation at an apartment complex. He reportedly then fled in his vehicle, striking at least two vehicles in the process. Chance is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident. He is being held on a cash-only bond of $25,000.
