Bernie man charged with selling meth

BERNIE, Mo. -- A Bernie man has been charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance.

Michael Jesse Gibson, 23, 402 Fleming St., was arrested Friday after an investigation that began months earlier.

On June 7, a confidential informant said Gibson was selling prescription medications and methamphetamine from his home, according to police chief Justin Allen. The informant was sent to buy about 1 gram of crystal meth.

Bernie officers found Gibson during a routine traffic stop Friday, when they discovered an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident. Additional arrests are expected, Allen said.
