BENTON, Mo. -- A Benton woman is in custody for drug charges stemming from a disturbance call at a home Tuesday, the Scott County Signal reported. Amber Thomure, 28, of Benton was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia after Scott County deputy Matt Scroggins responded to a disturbance call involving a verbal argument over money, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Department. A news release states that Scroggins discovered what he believed to be drugs and paraphernalia while speaking with Thomure. He then conducted a field test, which gave a positive result for methamphetamine, the release said. Thomure was arrested and is in the Scott County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash or surety bond. Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter asks anyone with information regarding narcotics or any crime to contact the Scott County Sheriff's Department at 545-3525 or to leave a message on the crime tip line at 1-866-210-4322.
