BENTON, Mo. - A Benton teenage boy was injured Tuesday night after the car he was driving struck a utility pole.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on County Road 401. Jerret M. Nicoson, 16, was driving a 1996 Ford when he lost control of the vehicle southbound on the ice-covered roadway and struck a utility pole.

Nicoson - who was wearing his seat belt - was taken by private vehicle to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau for treatment of moderate injuries.
