BENTON, Mo. -- A manhunt has led to the arrest of a wanted Benton man in Scott County.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reported Shawn L. Dobbs, 37, was arrested Wednesday on outstanding warrants for a felony drug violation, misdemeanor assault and numerous traffic charges. The charges stem from multiple jurisdictions in Missouri.

A release from Walter said that on Monday at about 1:20 p.m., officers from the Scott County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team executed a no-knock search warrant at the Dobbs residence. Dobbs, known to be an escape risk, and for resisting arrest and having been armed and dangerous in the past, was not there when deputies arrived.

Dobbs was supposed to be on house arrest and was being supervised by Missouri Probation and Parole for felony drug and assault charges. An ankle monitor the court had ordered Dobbs to wear at all times was found inside the home and had been cut off.

Deputies also found drug paraphernalia and items commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Deputies continued their investigation and eventually tracked Dobbs to a Wal-Mart in Sikeston, Missouri.

About 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, law enforcement officers conducted a stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a female friend of Dobbs. Dobbs and the woman were arrested without incident. Both were transported to the Scott County Jail.
