With 31 teams and 124 players, it was ready, set, go at the Bent Creek Golf Course April 6 for the annual Jackson Chamber of Commerce golf tournament.
Bent Creek, laid out over the naturally rolling hills of Southeast Missouri, is regarded by many as the best public golf course between St. Louis and Memphis.
The players had sunny dispositions as they set out to play in this ninth annual fund raiser, even though the weather was kind of overcast. With the weather a bit humid, the smell of the grill was intensified, only heightening the event.
Ken Parrett, executive director of the Jackson Chamber of Commerce since 1998, wishes to thank everyone who participated, either through sponsoring a hole, playing in the tournament or sponsoring prizes, lunch or refreshments. It is Parrett's mission to promote and protect civic interest.
While most players were relaxing, unwinding or getting a bite to eat, Chuck Guenther of Drury Co. informs us of how he looks forward to this event, annually. Guenther handles accounts receivable, receivable sales and safety at Drury. Bent Creeks is pleasant place to be on a Friday afternoon.
