BELL OFFICIAL TO KEYNOTE VOLUNTEER AWARDS LUNCH

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- David Martin, district manager for Southwestern Bell Telephone in St. Louis, will be the guest speaker at the April 25 Volunteer Awards ceremony in Cape Girardeau.

The awards are sponsored by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

Martin directs statewide advertising campaigns and oversees news media contacts for the telephone company's Missouri division.

The fourth annual Southwestern Bell Telephone Volunteer Awards will be presented during a luncheon ceremony at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Three citizens will be recognized for their community service efforts. A fourth category will recognize volunteer efforts by a group or organization.

Cape Girardeau joins nine other communities on the eastern side of the state participating in the volunteer awards program. Of the 40 Missouri finalists selected in local competitions, four top winners will be announced at a regional awards ceremony May 17 in St. Louis.
