CAPE GIRARDEAU - Additional free copies of the 1990-'91 edition of the Bell telephone book are now being distributed.
Mary Bolen, regional account representative for Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages Inc. in Cape Girardeau, said some 44,000 extra copies of the directory will be delivered to local homes and businesses beginning this week. The delivery process is expected to be completed within two weeks.
"Copies of the directory initially were delivered in October and we know that by now, many are really showing signs of wear and tear," Bolen said.
There are other reasons to distribute extra copies of the directory before the 1991-'92 edition comes out in October, Bolen said.
"People often find it convenient to have an extra copy around the house or the business, and some may have inadvertently disposed of the phone book because of the confusion that can arise when other directories also are published for an area."
Bolen is conferring with local businesses about their Yellow Pages advertising programs for the upcoming directory. For more information, she can be reached at 651-4492.
