JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Raymond H. Bayer Jr. has been named executive director of the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority. Bayer has been the agency's interim executive director since earlier this year and has been with MOHELA for about 21 years. "Ray's dedication to MOHELA has been apparent during the past five months when he served as interim executive director," Karen Luebbert, MOHELA chair, said in a news release Tuesday. MOHELA is a leading holder and servicer of student loans with more than $5.2 billion in assets, and loan purchase activity in excess of $1.2 billion per year.
