The Cape Girardeau Convention & Visitor's Bureau will present "An Evening of Remembrance: A Commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Cape Girardeau" at 6:30 p.m. April 26 at the actual battle site at Grace United Methodist Church, 521 Caruthers St.
The program is free and Scott House, chairman of the Cape Girardeau Historic Preservation Commission and a Civil War re-enactor, will be one of the featured presenters.
The program will include:
* At 6:30 p.m., House will give a brief introduction and visual orientation of key elements of the battle.
* At 6:55 p.m., Mayor Harry Rediger will give a welcome and Tom Sullenger, senior pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, will lead an opening prayer and moment of silence for those who have died in battle and those who are still in service to the country.
* At 7 p.m., House will give the program and presentation of the battle.
* At 7:55 p.m., the program will conclude and complimentary refreshments will be served.
