Burglars of two Cape Girardeau bars made off with cash and video machines during heists this week.
Independence Place and Cape Club Complex reported burglaries in which thieves targeted their video amusement machines.
The glass front door of Independence Place, 5 S. Henderson Ave., was broken in between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 a.m. Thursday, according to police spokesman Jason Selzer.
Two video amusement machines were damaged, and one had its coin box stolen, Selzer said. It was not known how much money was in the stolen coin box.
At Cape Club Complex, 433 S. Sprigg St., thieves broke in through a window between 2 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday. Two video amusement machines were stolen, but police did not know how much money was in them at the time, Selzer said.
The burglaries were believed connected, based on the machines targeted and the time frame in which the burglaries occurred, Selzer said.
As of Friday afternoon, no suspects were in custody and police did not have a description of the thieves.
