~ Area golfers raise money for center's cancer fund
More than 120 golfers and 20 volunteers participated recently in the third annual Ken Hayden Memorial Golf Tournament to help raise money for cancer patients.
The event, which took place May 23, raises money for Saint Francis Medical Center's cancer care fund.
"We couldn't be more pleased with the response to the tournament," said William H. Kiel, CFRE, vice president of development for Saint Francis. "We had great weather and the winners had a lot of fun."
Winners of the championship flight included Tammy Pettet, Jack Pettet, Nancy Stone and Jerry Stone.
Mike Keefe, Jan Keefe, Mary Wulfers and Dr. Michael C. Wulfers won flight A. Gene Farrar, Barb Farrar, Larry Whitlock and Virginia Whitlock won flight B.
"This is a great tournament for a great cause," Kiel asaid "The Saint Francis Foundation is honored to offer this event to raise funds for the cancer care fund."
The Ken Hayden Memorial Golf Tournament was started in 2004 to raise money for the medical center. In its first two years, the tournament has raised more than $20,000. For more information, call 331-5994.
The Saint Francis Foundation is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization that supports Saint Francis Medical Center.
