CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau has received a high performance award from its parent company, Mercantile Bancorporation, Inc., for 1990 achievements.
The award was presented recently during a meeting in Kansas City attended by presidents of all Mercantile banks in Missouri and Illinois, and other Mercantile officials.
O. J. ("Ollie") Miller, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the local bank, accepted the award by Thomas H. Jacobsen, chairman and chief executive officer of the bancorporation, and John W. McClure, executive vice president, Community Banking.
"Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau turned in a good performance in 1990," said Miller. "We wouldn't have been so successful of it hadn't been for the outstanding effort and commitment of our staff."
