Karen Penrod of Boatmen's National Bank of Cape Girardeau has been promoted to assistant trust officer.
She is responsible for opening trust accounts, reviewing daily trust transactions and providing assistance to customers and beneficiaries. After graduating from Southeast Missouri State University in 1981 with a business administration degree, she went full time. In 1982, Penrod was promoted to accounting clerk, managing the bank's certificate-of-deposit system and reconciling income and expense ledgers. A year later she transferred to the trust department.
Penrod graduated from the Cannon Financial Institute's Trust School this year, specializing in personal trust administration. A native of Crestwood, she has lived in Cape Girardeau since 1976.
